Welcome to the tour for VIPERdb, a relational database and web site for icosahedral virus structures and their analyis. The tour is designed to introduce you to the web site and to highlight new features and capabilities of the database. You can go back and forth between the stops on the tour using the arrows below, or jump ahead to a topic of interest using the menu on the lower left. Pages displayed in the lower right frame can be explored more fully by following the links and the instructions in this space, without leaving the tour. If you would like to explore a certain feature outside of the tour, click on the Open featured page link at the bottom of the top frame, or select Leave the Tour from the menu. The latter option will return you to the VIPERdb home page, shown below.
New users can find information on accessing VIPERdb using the links around the main graphic on the home page, or using the blue menu on the upper left of the home page. This menu is accessible from all VIPERdb pages. If you're interested in a specific virus capsid, you can access the data by entering it's PDB ID in the field at the top of the page, or find it in the pull down menus. Again, these menus are available on all VIPERdb pages. Take some time to explore the site further, or continue on to another stop on the tour.
